This is a Bible class I am writing for the adult class at the Bawcomville church of Christ, in West Monroe, LA. I will be adding the parts as they are completed. I pray you will find this material useful. It is not original with me by any means. I wrote the study questions from the biblical text but the outlines are adapted from the notes I have acquired over the years. The chronology is based on that found in “The Fourfold Gospel” by McGarvey and Pendleton.
Hebrews 6:13-20 is the concluding remarks to the exhortation toward maturity begun at the end of Hebrews 5. In this passage the Hebrews encouraged his audience to remain faithful to the gospel of Christ knowing that God will always follow through with his promises. His promises are immutable – unchangeable and unstoppable. If we remain faithful to God, we can have full assurance of receiving those things he was promised the faithful.
The book of Acts has been given many descriptive designations. Among those should be “The Book Of Non-Conversions.” We learn a great deal about why people do not obey the gospel from the examples of non-conversion in the Book of Acts.
As Jesus prepared his disciples for his death and resurrection, he taught them how to be servants. The desire for worldly greatness is contrary to Christianity. Jesus gives us the biblical measure of true godly greatness.
